When in Australia, you have to visit Sydney, if only to say you have been there.
We were staying at Wiseman’s Ferry which is not too far from Sydney so decided to go to Sydney for the day. The idea was to drive there by car and park up for the day. Not far from Rydalmere we popped into the Tourist Information Centre. They were EXTREMELY helpful and suggested we park the car at Rydalmere Ferry and take the ferry to Sydney. We had an amazing boat trip into Sydney Harbour, seeing amazing birds and scenery along the way.
We walked around Sydney Opera House and had amazing views of Sydney Harbour Bridge. No we did not cross the bridge. I am afraid of heights and too much of a woose! Instead we got back on the ferry and travelled to Manley Beach, for lunch. We sat watching the waves, surfers and people having a fun time, including us.
Then back on the ferry to RoseBay before returning to the Sydney Ferry Terminal for the return boat trip to collect the car for the return drive to Wiseman’s Ferry and the National Water Ski Championship being held at the weekend. I will tell you about them another time.
What an amazing day we had. All the sea air made us very tired and we slept like babes.
